Take a Hike!
for your Community
Saturday, March 27th from 9 am - noon |
Hike the Heard to raise funds for your favorite participating partner organization. Choose to take a tranquil hike on a half mile, a mile, or one-and-a-half mile trail at your own pace. Experience the beautiful Heard sanctuary while you support the community at this fun family event.
Participate in children’s activities including bounce houses, a petting zoo, face painting, an Easter Egg hunt, and more! Watch live entertainment and a presentation by Blackland Prairie Raptor Center. Participants will also be given free museum admission for the day. Enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast, water, and gifts including a t-shirt and sling back pack while supplies last. You will also get the chance to win giveaways!
Last year during Take a Hike!, McKinney experienced weather very uncharacteristic of Spring, with wind-chills dipping into the 20s and snow flurries, but this did not prohibit over 400 philanthropic citizens from showing up to participate. We know that if we have better weather this year, this collaborative community fundraiser is sure to have hundreds more participants, bringing support to many of the wonderful non-profit organizations in our community at a time when many important organizations dearly need your help.

Donate to your organization of choice ($10 of each adult ticket and $3 of each child ticket goes to your choice). $20 adults. $5 kids 3-17.

Since Take a Hike is a fundraiser, no refunds will be offered and the event will take place rain or shine. The Heard will be closed to the public from
9 am -noon for the hike and will reopen at noon.
